Context
Drawing something fairly usually ends in paper slips, spreadsheets or ad-ridden apps. We wanted a clean, fast tool that works on any device without installing anything.
Approach
Five tools in one app: quick draw, visual wheel, list matcher, secret Santa and team maker. We built it with Flutter and compiled it to WebAssembly so the web version starts and responds like a native app. The "no repeats" option removes the winner from the wheel, and results are shared with one tap.
Outcome
SortyNow is live and runs right on this site, in Spanish, English, French and German. It is also our test bench for Flutter on the web: what we learned migrating it to WebAssembly is in the journal.
